This Moccona Capsule Ristretto 12 follows on from our earlier experience with the Espresso 10 that are compatible with Nespresso coffee machines.

Like the Espresso 10, the Ristretto 12 is also a (different) blend of Robusta and Arabica.

The espresso was a translucent deep black-brown colour with an intense and rich roasted aroma.

Prepared as a long black with a 1 to 1 water:espresso ratio, initial rich roasted notes develop swiftly with the prominent fruitiness of pome fruit, like the pleasant acidity of a pear, in the body that persists through to the finish where intense roasted notes return with the acidity, lingering long in the aftertaste with a moderate bitterness much like dark chocolate. Compared to the Espresso 10, the Ristretto 12 has a more enjoyable flavour that’s less bitter and very much recalled that of the Nespresso Ristretto.

This Moccona Capsule Ristretto 12 contained 52 g or 10x 5.2 g capsules. It was produced in France and received as a sample in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
