Kasugai Tsubu Gumi Vacation

This is the Kasugai Tsubu Gumi Vacation.

The pack included five flavours: lychee, kiwi, mango, pineapple, and passionfruit. As these weren’t part of the premium line, the flavour was primarily concentrated in the outer shell, while the gummy interior had a hint of fruity tropical acidity.

Lychee, with an off-white exterior coating encasing a clear, colourless gummy interior.

The lychee flavour was fresh and floral, with a bright sweetness from the external coating, and the interior gummy releasing a mellow tropical acidity, reminiscent of Yeo’s Lychee Drink.

Kiwi, with a green exterior coating encasing a pale yellow translucent gummy interior.

The rich kiwi flavour was of a green kiwi, sweet initially from the exterior coating, and developing with a vibrant juicy acidity from the gummy interior. This was the most intense flavour of the five, though it did reach the level of brightness and nuanced taste of the premium rich kiwi version.

Mango, with an orange exterior coating encasing a pale orange translucent gummy interior

The initial mango flavour from the outer coating was sweet, but bordered on artificial. However, after a few chews of the gummy interior, the sweetness was balanced by a fresh mango juice-like tropical acidity that peaked in the finish, resulting in an enjoyable mango flavour.

Pineapple, with a yellow exterior coating encasing a pale yellow translucent gummy interior.

The flavour started with a fresh tropical pineapple sweetness, followed by a bright, juicy acidity released from the gummy interior. The overall flavour was rich, and reminscent of fresh pineapple juice.

Passionfruit, with a pink exterior coating encasing a pale yellow translucent gummy interior.

The passionfruit flavour emerged sweet at first, but while a touch of acidity developed as the gummy interior was chewed, it lacked the rich and punchy tanginess of the fresh fruit.

Overall, these jelly beans provided enjoyable fruity flavours, though they lacked the depth and complexity found in the Premium line, which features specific varietals of each fruit.

This Kasugai Tsubu Gumi Vacation contained 75 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
