This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Chiba Hosui Pear, made with juice from Hosui pears cultivated in Chiba Prefecture—a prominent pear-growing region known for producing this sweet, juicy, and mildly acidic variety.

Each gummy measured approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with a pale yellow hue and a mellow, sweet nashi aroma. The outer gummy had a noticeably firmer, more resistant chew compared to other flavours in the series, giving way to a softer, jelly-like core. After a brief initial nashi aroma at start, flavour release was delayed, with the sweet pear character only becoming prominent in the second half of the chew. The interior delivered a richer, deeper sweetness, while the exterior remained comparatively subdued. Acidity was minimal, resulting in a flavour profile that, while pleasant, lacked the dimensionality found in other nashi variants in the series.
Despite the subdued acidity and slower flavour release, the texture and overall freshness of the pear flavour were well-executed. A satisfying option for those who appreciate the nuanced sweetness of Japanese pears.
This Nippon Yell Gummy Chiba Hosui Pear contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2024.
