This is the Koikeya Potato Chips Nori Shōyu. It was flavoured using soy sauce made from whole soybeans, and three kinds of seaweed: yaki nori, aosa, and aonori.

Every chip was coated with a generous dusting of green seasoning, featuring smaller concentrations of red flecks, imparting a nuanced savoury aroma of soy sauce and seaweed.

Upon tasting, the flavour of the chips unfolded with the aroma of soy sauce, delivering a profound savoury essence and a gentle sweetness that spread across the palate upon the contact. The crisp texture of the chip revealed the oceanic umami of seaweed as it was crunched through. As the experience progressed, a robust potato flavour surfaced briefly towards the finish before subsiding, concluding with a subtle heat that lingered briefly and gradually intensified with each subsequent chip. Overall, these chips proved highly enjoyable and merit repurchasing, offering a sophisticated, layered depth of flavour with distinct contributions from various seaweeds, alongside the noticeable presence of soy sauce and subtle chilli.
