Each crisp had a curved, saddle-like shape similar to stacked chips, measuring approximately 6 x 5 cm at its widest and about 1 mm thick. The crisps were a pale yellow hue, speckled with green and white seasoning.

The aroma was distinctly buttery, and on tasting, the butteriness remained the dominant flavour. Each crisp was generously seasoned, but the artificial kombu flavour lacked the characteristic umami depth of real kombu. Given that kombu is an easily sourced ingredient, the use of artificial flavouring was puzzling. The visible green flecks turned out to be parsley rather than seaweed. Mid-bite, the buttery flavour developed a subtle sweetness, while the finish was defined by a savoury potato note. While the crisps had a good texture, the seasoning failed to deliver the depth expected from a “gourmet” chip.
