This is the Nissin Foods Raoh Instant Noodles Soy Sauce. Nissin Raoh is a range of instant noodles originating from Japan, crafted using whole-grain wheat. Our previous encounter involved tasting the Yuzu Salt flavour.

Contained within the single package was a circular cake of dehydrated whole-grain wheat noodles, accompanied by a sachet holding a soup base infused with soy sauce. The noodles had a speckled appearance due to their whole-grain nature, while the soup base combined soy sauce and oil. The cooking process involved preparing the noodles on the stove by boiling them in 450 mL of water for 4 minutes. Post-cooking, the noodles, along with their cooking water, were combined with the soup base within the serving bowl.

Following cooking, the instant noodles exuded an enticing soy sauce aroma, reminiscent of the soy-based broths often encountered in reputable ramen establishments. Upon tasting, the soy sauce base exhibited a subtly savoury quality, somewhat more muted than its initial aroma suggested. Nonetheless, it infused the noodles with depth without overwhelming them with excessive saltiness. The whole-grain noodles contributed a vibrant wheat flavour, accompanied by a remarkably gratifying al dente texture. As previously observed with the yuzu variant, these noodles commanded a premium price point in the Australian market, aptly mirroring the elevated quality inherent in both the noodles and the broth.
