Nissin Foods Demae Iccho Korean Style Spicy Flavour

This is the Nissin Foods Korean Style Spicy Flavour.

Each package contained a fried noodle cake and a soup base sachet. The cooking instructions involved boiling the noodles and soup base in 550 mL of water for 4-5 minutes.

Following the preparation instructions, the soup base took on a translucent orange-red hue with a pronounced chilli aroma, and the noodles expanded to a notably thicker diameter, roughly twice the thickness of regular Demae Iccho flavours. Upon tasting, the soup base offered a subtle oceanic hint reminiscent of kelp and mushroom, but the dominant flavour was overwhelmingly chilli, which provided a back-of-the-throat kick and developed into a lingering, sustained burn in the aftertaste. However, the soup base lacked any distinct flavours to identify it as Korean and lacked the depth found in Nongshim Shin Ramyun or its variants. Despite the disappointing soup base that made these noodles not worth repurchasing, we appreciated the thicker format of the noodles, which were elastic and had a satisfying bite.
