This is the Glico Karu Satsuma. It contained 3% murasaki imo (purple sweet potato) powder (3%) alongside dried potato.

Each cracker was a pale purple hue with golden brown marks reminiscent of Pretz. They measured approximately 10 cm in length, 5 mm in diameter, and had a hollow interior with a thickness of about 1 mm.

Upon opening the packaging, the crackers released a rich, sweet aroma of sweet potato. Upon tasting, the initial sweetness from the fine seasoning quickly transitioned to a crisp and crunchy texture, revaling a hint of savoury undertones that balanced the developing sweet potato flavor within the dough. The overall taste resembled that of a crunchy roasted sweet potato. While we typically prefer a more savoury potato flavor, this sweet potato version was nevertheless delightful, elegantly capturing the essence of sweet potato in a crispy and addictive format without overwhelming sweetness.
This Glico Karu Satsuma contained 36 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
