This is the Allens Sweet & Sour Killer Pythons, a new release in mid-2024.

Each snake was approximately 22 cm in length and 1 cm in diameter, and had a unique order for the flavours.

The gradient on this snake was particularly pleasing and featured, from head to tail:

• Sour lemon (yellow): Rich lemon flavour with notable but not overwhelming sourness.
• Creaming soda (pink): Sweet, mellow raspberry flavour with a subtle creaminess.
• Raspberry (red): Rich fruity sweetness, bolder than the previous flavour without the creaminess.
• Sour grape (purple): Bright grape flavour, reminiscent of juice concentrate with moderate sourness.
• Cola (black): Gentle cola with a subtle sharpness; would have preferred this to be a sour flavour.
• Sour watermelon (green): Initially very artificial before the sourness came through.

Overall, these gummy snakes required a few chews to release their flavour, tasting rather bland initially, with the ‘sour’ flavours lacking conviction. Even when the flavour emerged, it was less intense and less refined, and the texture was stickier compared to the bouncier and cleaner chew of gummies from Japan or Haribo. This makes them an unlikely candidate for repurchasing.
