This is the Tea Mates Passionfruit Tea ($7.50 for large, fixed ice, fixed sweetness, +$0.60 for aloe jelly; BOGOF). The drink contained passionfruit pulp with a passionfruit syrup blended with ice and green tea to give an opaque golden yellow drink with a foaming head. Consumed chilled, bright notes of passionfruit came through with a refreshing and balanced sweetness, while the pulp and jelly adds textural interest and extra pops of flavour. As a drink, it’s very basic without much tea flavour and not worth the price if not for their long running buy-one-get-one-free deal that elevates it ahead of the version from Chatime, but far behind the versions from Coco Fresh Tea & Juice or Bubble Nini Tea.
Passionfruit Tea was ordered at Tea Mates located at 100 The Crescent, Homebush West NSW 2140 in September 2019.
