This is the Lupicia White Christmas, part of Lupicia’s Christmas 2024 seasonal range and included in the Joyeux Noël tea bag set.

A black tea blend inspired by baked sweets made with white chocolate and nuts, it also contained puffed rice.

Steeped using a 2.5 g tea bag in 200 mL of water at 85ºC for 3 minutes, the resulting infusion presented a transparent orange-brown hue and released an intense aroma of white chocolate, vanilla, and toasted nuts. The fragrance was pronounced—verging on cloying—but evoked a distinctly festive character that lingered from first pour to final sip.

Consumed hot, the flavour profile proved more restrained and balanced than the nose implied. The white chocolate note came through as a gentle, creamy warmth rather than overt sweetness, contributing a smooth texture reminiscent of Jin Xuan oolong, though without the latter’s floral leanings. Nutty undertones added depth, rounding out a flavour experience that was comforting, familiar, and quietly indulgent.

A festive blend that delivers on both aroma and mood, White Christmas can be appreciated beyond the holiday season for those who enjoy dessert-inspired teas with nuance and warmth.
