Maruniya Kabosu Green Tea

Known for its kabosu, the tea lover in me could hardly leave Ōita Prefecture, without picking up this Maruniya Kabosu Green Tea.

The tea consisted of teabags containing a blend of sencha and dried kabosu.

Steeping one 2 g teabag in 200 mL of water at 75°C for 90 seconds, the infusion was a translucent yellow-green colour with green tea dust suspended throughout and zesty, vegetal aroma. Served hot, the mellow sweetness of the green tea came through before zesty — but not at all acidic — notes of kabosu rind develop in the body, and combine to amplify the grassy flavour of the green tea in the finish. Overall, this is a refreshing green tea that proudly celebrates the mellow sweetness of the green tea produced in Kyūshū and the distinct zestiness of the kabosu grown in Ōita.

This Maruniya Kabosu Green Tea contained 6 x 2 g tea bags. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Beppu, Japan.
