This Lupicia Petite Amie comes in its own limited edition tin and is available only at the Shibuya Toyoko shop.

The tea is a loose leaf black tea scented with berry and lychee and blended with red rose and blue mallow petals.

Steeping 3 g of looseleaf in 200 mL of water at 85ºC for 3 minutes, the infusion was a clear amber colour with a sweet berry aroma. Served hot, sweet berry notes came through ahead of the bold malty flavour of the black tea in the body before the tropical sweetness of lychee finishes the sip and leaves a slightly astringent hint of bitterness in the finish.

Served with a dash of milk and half a teaspoon of sugar, the boldness and mild bitterness of the black tea are rounded, while still allowing the berry notes still came through but masking the exotic twist of the lychee.

Overall, the tea was has a refreshing and immensely fruity flavour that holds its own against a bold black tea, while our penchant for lychee has us enjoying it more without milk.

This Lupicia Petite Amie contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from India and Vietnam, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2019.
