This is the Lotte Pie no Mi Pistachio & Strawberry, made with 1.2% pistachio paste and 0.5% strawberry.

Each box contained 17 hexagonal pieces, measuring 2.5 × 3.0 × 1.5 cm. The pieces featured a glazed puff pastry with a centre of pistachio and strawberry flavoured white chocolate.

On tasting, the pastry itself was the highlight: light, crisp, and delicately flaky. The glazed top offered an initial sweetness, while the unsweetened pastry layers provided balance against the rich white chocolate filling. The filling softened into a creamy consistency on the palate but skewed heavily towards sweetness. The pistachio was largely absent, contributing neither nuttiness nor savoury depth, while the strawberry element registered only as sugary sweetness, lacking the tartness that might have offered freshness. As a result, the filling was underwhelming, with the pastry’s texture and lightness being the saving grace.
Overall, an unbalanced flavour pairing where the pastry shone but the pistachio and strawberry elements failed to deliver.
This Lotte Pie no Mi Pistachio & Strawberry contained 69 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2024.
