This is the Starbucks By Nespresso Blonde Espresso Roast. It’s described as Starbucks second espresso that’s ‘boldly mellow. This special blend of beans from Latin America was carefully roasted to coax out sweet, vibrant notes’.

It has an intensity of 6 out of 12 and comes in a gold capsule with the signature Starbucks green.

The espresso was a translucent black-brown colour with a mellow roasted aroma. Prepared as a long black with 1:1 water to espresso ratio, the coffee had an enjoyable sweet berry acidity with a smooth mouthfeel and without the slightest hint of bitterness.

Prepared with milk masks the acidity present in the long black for a mellow coffee with a smooth and soft mouthfeel that’s without any of the roasted or acidic edge of stronger roasts. Overall, this is a very accessible coffee comparable to the Nespresso Barista Creations Scuro and is best enjoyed unsweetened and equally with or without milk.
