These Haribo Fruitmania Citrus follow on from the berry ones from the same series.

There are five flavours in the bag: lemon, blood orange, lime, orange and pink grapefruit. Again, they lack the bouncy texture of Haribo’s ordinary gummy as these vegetarian gummies do not use gelatin.

First up, is the lemon. Shaped like a lemon, it had a fresh lemon flavour with its characteristic sourness.

The blood orange has the aromatic flavours that you ordinarily get from blood orange and make it much more enjoyable than an orange.

The lime is bright, with its characteristic zestier and less sour notes that distinguish it from lemon.

The orange tastes like orange, without the hint of bitterness that you usually get from orange flavoured gummy, but it does leave your tongue slightly numb like other orange flavoured gummy. What’s it with orange flavoured gummy doing that?

And finally, the grapefruit has a very pleasant characteristic sharpness or gentle bitterness that characterises pink grapefruit. It’s sweet and zesty and packed with flavour – our favourite of the bunch.

The citrus flavours are true to their fresh fruit counterparts, but fans of the teeth-bouncing texture of Haribo’s gummies should avoid these.
