It’s been years since the allure of cheap chocolate moulded into the form of hollow bunnies appealed to me. But this Nestlé After Eight Bunny caught my eye in recent years. If the name and its green packaging conjure fancy chocolate that usually comes in the form of thin squares of dark chocolate with a gooey mint centre, it’s because it’s made by the same company.
Truth be told, the bunny on the foil — and especially the chocolate itself — look rather creepy.

The After Eight chocolate in bunny form doesn’t have a mint filling but is made bittersweet peppermint chocolate. The chocolate gave a crisp break while tasting rich and creamy with a bright peppermint flavour. We miss the gooeyness of the mint centre in the original squares, but the overall flavour was well captured and makes this one of our favourite mainstream Easter products.
This Nestlé After Eight Bunny contained 85 g. It was produced in Hungary and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2020.
