This Twinings In’fuse Passionfruit, Mango & Blood Orange follows on from the rose lemonade and watermelon, strawberry & mint.

Pyramid tea bags enclose the tisane, which featured a blend of white hibiscus, rosehips, blood orange flavouring (105), apple pieces, mango flavouring (6%), passionfruit flavouring (55), orange peel (4%), roasted chicory root, hibiscus, natural flavouring.

The tisane is prepared by dropping the infuser into cold water. It’s recommended that the infuser is left in the water for lasting flavour.

Infusing 1 tea bag for 10 minutes in 500 mL of cold water, the infusion was a translucent orange colour with a tangy tropical aroma. Served chilled, sweet notes of passionfruit notes emerge at the head of each sip with a moderate acidity before the sweetness developed with a citrusy flavour from the blood orange in the body. The acidity recedes in the finish, giving way to the sweet tropical notes of mangoes at peak ripeness.

Honestly, from the appearance and aroma of the infusion, I was worried it’d taste like orange flavoured oral rehydration products, like Gastrolyte. My initial worries were unfounded, though, as the bright and fresh flavour bears no resemblance at all.
