The Cider Lab Packham Pear Cider

Packham Pears and I have a love-hate relationship. While I’m fond of eating Packham Pears, it’s not a fruit – fresh or processed – that my body will tolerate. But D and I enjoy sweet ciders – The Cider Lab conveniently informs of the sweetness and tartness of their ciders on the neck of each bottle – so I took my chances with this The Cider Lab Packham Pear Cider based on my unsubstantiated (but now confirmed) belief that process of making cider would eliminate the source of my intolerance.

The cider is a transparent pale yellow-green with a mellow, sweet nose and a gentle carbonation. Consumed ice-cold, bright notes of crisp Packham Pear came through in the head with a gentle sweetness and low acidity in the body. A hint of floral fragrance emerged towards the end of the body, before leaving a clean finish with no lingering aftertaste.

The dry and flavourful notes of Packham Pear create a smooth and refreshing cider that’s a delight to drink. Indeed, so much so that we want to try the others in The Cider Lab line.

This The Cider Lab Packham Pear Cider contained 330 ml. It was bottled in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
