N’s quest for a delightfully tangy lemon tart brought us to Adriano Zumbo Patissier after rice burgers at Gojima at The Star. Their cabinets are stocked to the brim, although foot traffic is rather quiet around midday.

This is the coveted Lemon Tart ($6.00). N is always on the look out for a good lemon tart. Here, both the lemon curd and the glaze are too thick with the curd having the consistency of melted gummy candy and the glaze detracting from the lemony goodness. That aside, the flavour of the lemon curd was pleasantly zesty and tangy.

And a few weeks later, after a routine trip to the dentist, I treat myself to some macarons. This is the Toasted Marshmallow Macaron ($2.80), with pink and cream coloured macaron shells and a brown toasted marshmallow cream that’s light and fluffy with a pleasant caramelization. This is one for sweet tooths.

And this is the Lemon Meringue Macaron ($2.80), with yellow macaron shells sandwiching a deliciously tangy and zesty lemon cream that leaves your mouth salivating from the intensity.
As I’d concluded on earlier visits, I’d go for the macarons and maybe their cronuts before the cakes here.
