Traditional cola derived its flavour from the kola nut, but most colas now use other flavouring ingredients with similar taste. So, it’s most surprising to see this Phoenix Organic Cola being flavoured with natural kola nut and being free from caffeine.
The cola is a translucent brown colour with a high carbonation and an acidic nose. Served chilled, the cola has a sweet vanilla flavour in the head before developing in with lemony citrus notes in the body with mellow cinnamon undertones. Overall, the flavour was round and more complex than Coca-Cola with a lingering sweet citrus aftertaste.
This Phoenix Organic Cola contained 330 ml. It was bottled in New Zealand and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
