Before boarding the train to visit the Kirin Brewery in Okayama, we dropped by a shop near the train station and picked up this Fruit Garden Fruit Paradise Happy Fruit Tea.

Each pyramid tea contained a blend of hibiscus, dried apple and strawberry, as well as rose hip.

Steeping one 2 g tea bag in 200 mL of just boiled water for 2 minutes, the infusion was a transparent, bright ruby red with a mellow fruity berry nose. Served chilled, rich notes of dried strawberries came through ahead of the more acidic notes of apple and hibiscus in the body. The strawberry flavour returns in the finish and lingered on the palate with the acidity like a just-ripe strawberry. It’s enjoyable, but not remarkable.

This Fruit Garden Fruit Paradise Happy Fruit Tea contained 10 tea bags or 20 g. It originated in Germany and was packed in Japan and purchased in Okayama, Japan in 2015.
