T2 Sencha Quince

Quince flavoured tea isn’t something I’ve seen outside of this T2 Sencha Quince.

It’s a blend of green tea, mallow blossoms, flavouring and cornflower petals.

Steeping 3 g of looseleaf in 200 mL of water at 75ºC for 1.5 minutes, the is a clear golden straw colour with a tropical fruity nose. Served hot, the tea tastes much like how it smells, with aromatic notes of quince – like a sweet apple with the fragrant notes of pear – came through briefly in the head of each sip before the vegetal flavour of the sencha developed prominently in the body with a moderate astringency. The aromatic notes of quince return in the finish, mellowed by the green tea, leaving a subtly sweet and astringent aftertaste.

This T2 Sencha Quince contained 100 g. The tea was packed in Germany and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
