We cast aside our doubts for the Rekorderlig brand after trying the Premium Passionfruit Cider, which tasted like peaches, and returned to the more staple lineup with this Rekoderlig Festival Apple Cider. This cider is from late 2017, and they’ve since renamed it as Rekorderlig Hard Äpple Cider, to more accurately describe the product – a higher strength cider at 6.5% alcohol rather than the usual 3-4% – for its target market.
The cider is a very pale transparent straw colour with strong notes of yeast in the nose and high levels of carbonation. Served chilled, prominent sweet notes of apple came through with developing acidity into the body before a flux of fizzy bubbles in the body cleanses the palate of the sweet apple notes to leave a slight bitterness before a clean and crisp apple flavour returns to linger long in the aftertaste.
This Rekorderlig Festival Apple Cider contained 330 ml. It was bottled in Sweden and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
