This Dairy Farmers Thick & Creamy Yoghurt Caramelised Fig is high on the list of T’s favoured yoghurts. So when we happened to be at a supermarket together, I picked up one for myself as T stocked his basket with this to the exclusion of all other flavours.
The yoghurt is a creamy white colour with brown flecks throughout. It smells strongly of caramel. Upon tasting, the flavour was very much like the fruit – a honey-like sweetness and nuttiness, but the caramelised aspect makes the flavour much too sweet with none of the fruity freshness of the fresh fruit. That said, the texture is faultless – thick and creamy – although the flecks of fig do not add to the texture of the yoghurt. This yoghurt may be ideal for a dessert yoghurt but we’ll pass on this one for breakfast.
