Bubble Nini Tea is part tea shop and part florist. Opened recently on a quiet corner of Central Park, its bubble tea featured handmade pearls in various flavours including strawberry, matcha, sakura, mango and taro. This is the It Takes Two to Mango ($6.50 for regular, +$1.00 for large), a green tea with passion fruit purée, mango pearls, coconut jelly, a mint leaf as well as slices of fresh orange and green apple.
The drink was a translucent yellow orange colour with a bright tropical flavour. Upon tasting, the tropical flavour delivered a punchy passionfruit flavour that’s balanced with the sweeter mango juice base. There’s plenty of textural interest in this drink with the bounce from the orange pulp, the lychee jelly and critically, the mango pearls. Overall, the brightness of the tropical flavour was fresh but drowns out both the green tea notes as well as the flavour of the mango pearls.

Bubble Nini Tea brought an interesting concept to a bubble tea store, but while their drinks are pretty and their handmade pearls come in interesting flavours, we’re in no rush to return for the other drinks on the menu.
Bubble Nini Tea is located at 180/8 Central Park Ave, Chippendale NSW 2008.
