As we encountered with the Nestlé KitKat Shinshu Apple, the Nagano (traditionally called Shinshu) region in central Japan is known for its red apples. This Glico Pretz Shinshu Fuji Apple is the region limited flavour for Nagano and uses the Fuji variety of apples to flavour the biscuit sticks.
This is a mini-box containing one bright red bag of 16 biscuit sticks, which contain 25% Shinshu Fuji Apple.
The white powder dusted over the biscuit sticks is hits the palate with a salivating tart apple flavour. As we crunch through the biscuit, a similarly intense honey sweetness of baked apples to cut through the acidity. The combination of the crunch and sweet apple flavour in the biscuit is reminiscent of the crunchy, sweet honey taste of the Fuji apple, while the tart apple dust recalled the almost effervescent of the apple and elevates this Pretz beyond our wildest expectations for an apple flavoured biscuit.
