This The Happy Cookie Co 40% Choc Chip is the counterpart to the double choc. I have to admit that prior to tasting either of the cookies, I didn’t have great hopes for this version as I’d assumed double choc would’ve given a more dramatic chocolate flavour. Happily, D purchased the cookies anyway and I was surprised that I preferred these over the double choc.

The cookies were about 8 cm in diameter, 1.5 cm tall and described as being ‘delicious cookies made with dark chocolate chips (40%)’.

These cookies are crunchy with a good crumb, while the cookie base has a light buttery flavour and the generous dark chocolate chips throughout add pops of rich chocolate flavour. Compared to the double choc version, the contrast between the flavours allows the chocolate to came through more prominently. While the cookie is enjoyable, it does lack the moreish richness of the award-winning Coles version that uses real butter and chocolate chunks.
This The Happy Cookie Co 40% Choc Chip contained 290 g or 5 pieces. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
