The Donut King in Parramatta Westfield made our favourite cinnamon doughnuts until they were squeezed out of business by the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts that opened less than 20 m away. They’re gone now and we’ve not had one of their doughnuts since October, but they’re still worth writing about for posterity’s sake.

We usually bought four cinnamon doughnuts for $4.00. Cinnamon doughnuts are usually the most ordinary of ‘flavours’ and nothing to write about but Donut King distinguished itself by selling fresh ones made to order.

Doughnuts made to order have a delectable crisp outside from being fresh out of the frier with a generous coating of cinnamon sugar all the while retaining a warm soft centre. I was never much of a fan of cinnamon doughnuts, but these fresh doughnuts are now as much a favourite as the Original Glazed doughnut from Kreme Original. That said, we’ve yet to try the cinnamon doughnut from Krispy Kreme.
Donut King was located at Shop 1163/159-175 Church St, Parramatta NSW 2150.
