My interest has turned to Japanese and Chinese teas over more Western inspired teas in the past few years, but we did rediscover this English Tea Shop White Tea Blueberry & Elderflower recently.
The tea consisted of individually sealed tea bags containing a blend of organic white tea, organic lemongrass, organic elderflower and organic blueberries with natural blueberry flavour.
Steeping one tea bag in 200 mL of water at 80°C for 3 minutes, the infusion was a clear golden straw colour with a fruity, floral aroma. Served hot, the sweet and slight acidity of blueberries came through at the head of each sip before the light notes of white tea emerge with gentle elderflower in the body. The floral and fruity notes return in the finish before leaving a clean aftertaste.
This English Tea Shop White Tea Blueberry & Elderflower contained 20x 1.5 g tea bags. The tea was packed in Sri Lanka and received as gift from family visiting in Hong Kong in 2015.
