This McCain Craft Beer Batter Chips Golden Ale is made with John Boston Golden Ale, which is described as ‘an aromatic beer with mouth-watering notes of stone fruit and Australian pale toffee malt characteristics’ resulting in ‘full bodied flavour, an intense golden hue and a velvety smooth finish’.

We prepare the chips in an air fryer preheated to 210°C and baking for 15 minutes, tossing regularly. Like the pale ale chips, these chips release a similarly prominent beer aroma when baking. We neglected to document these chips visually, but they do bake to a beautiful golden brown with a crispy outside and fluffy inside. Upon tasting, the flavour of the golden ale came through as a more pronounced full bodied beer flavour with less prominent hops notes that gave the chips a crisper flavour that we prefer in the pale ale.
This McCain Craft Beer Batter Chips Golden Ale contained 500 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
