The coffee is a dark roast with an intensity of 10 out of 13 and comes in a pink-brown capsule with dot in Starbuck’s signature green.
The espresso was a translucent brown colour with a thick, woody aroma. Prepared as a long black with a 1:1 water to espresso ratio, the same earthy and woody notes came through with a smooth mouthfeel ahead of a moderate bitterness and tingling spiciness developing in the finish that lingered briefly on the palate. Overall, the near absence of acidity in this coffee paired with its woody notes make this — along with Indonesian coffees generally — an enjoyable coffee. Compared to the Nespresso Master Origin Indonesia, the spicy notes are more pronounced here.
