This is the Passion Fruit Green Tea (large, no ice, 50% sweetness, $6.80) from Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea. The drink had a translucent yellow-orange hue, featuring a puochong tea base and topped with passion fruit pulp (included) and pearls (+$0.50). When consumed chilled, the puochong’s rich floral and melon notes dominated, similar to the pineapple green tea, while the passion fruit flavour subtly emerged in the background, devoid of its usual tartness, and a minor astringency lingered in the finish. The drink achieved a natural and balanced sweetness from the passion fruit pulp, complementing the evident high quality of the green tea. However, the pearls, though tender, lacked the sweetness needed to elevate the overall taste. Therefore, sweetness levels of 80%-100% may be more satisfying, but given the sweetness and price, I’d be more inclined to revisit Coco Fresh Tea & Juice for the Bubble Gaga.
