BlackBall is a new-to-us Taiwanese dessert parlour serving up the usual East Asian desserts with various beans and grass jelly and taro — think Meet Fresh — as well as bubble tea beverages.
This is their Lychee Slurpee ($5.00), which is an opaque pale brown colour with brown flecks throughout. Consumed frozen, the lychee flavour was bright and recalled the use of artificially flavoured syrup in addition to blended lychees that comes canned in syrup. We enjoyed the additional hit of natural lychee flavour from the canned lychees but we were disappointed by the lack of texture from the canned lychees and the overwhelming sweetness of the drink overall.
This Lychee Slurpee was purchased from Blackball, located at Shop 2, 204 Rowe St, Eastwood NSW 2122, in March 2020.
