Working from home due to the COVID-19 situation means limited access to bubble tea, a hole that’s been filled with various kombucha from the supermarket. This is Lo Bros Organic Kombucha Raspberry & Plum.
The drink was a cloudy pink colour with an immensely enjoyable fruity aroma of raspberry and gentle carbonation. Served chilled, the bright sweetness of ripe raspberries came through crisp ahead of the tarter notes of plum in the body before effervescent bubbles clear the palate in the finish. The flavour has a restrained sweetness with the natural tartness of the fruits pairing well with the characteristic acidity of kombucha but without the odd and bitter aftertaste of artificial sweeteners (as in the Remedy brand) despite containing stevia.
