This Lupicia Imo Kuri Kabo Cha is an autumnal release for 2019.
It’s a bagged blend of rooibos with chestnut and sweet potato as well as pumpkin.
Infusing one 2.5 g bag in 200 mL of just-boiled water, the infusion was a transparent red colour with a sweet, earthy aroma. Served hot, the same sweet, earthy notes came through initially and develop in richness towards the body before mellowing to a buttery warmth in the finish that lingered on the palate. It’s difficult to distinguish the chestnut from the sweet potato in the body of the sip, while the pumpkin lingered distinctly in the aftertaste. Together, though, the characteristic sweet and earthy flavours came through prominently for a warming autumnal beverage.
This Lupicia Imo Kuri Kabo Cha contained 25 g or 10 bags. The tea was sourced from South Africa, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Kagoshima, Japan in 2019.
