This is the Oreo Salted Caramel. It’s described as being a ‘choc cookie sandwich with salted caramel flavoured creme’.
Each cookie sandwich is 4.5 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with a heady aroma of salted caramel.
Biting through, the biscuit gave an audible crunch before reaching the softer salted caramel creme. The cookie itself brought no sweetness, and in doing so balances the more prominent sweetness of the salted caramel creme that otherwise overwhelms. As we bite through the cookie, it cleanses the palate before returning to the sweet cream, and so creates a moreish cookie that’s more subtle than its heady aroma would suggest and thoroughly enjoyable even for someone who’s not usually the biggest fan of salted caramel.
