This Gong Cha Tropical Fruit Party ($7.10, no ice, less sugar) was part of their Little Star Series, featuring peach flavoured star-shaped coconut jelly. In addition to the jelly, the drink was a mango, passionfruit and peach flavoured green tea with passionfruit pulp.
Consumed chilled, the mango — an artificial syrup flavour — dominated the drink, while the passionfruit came through in the pulp as bursts of acidity and crunch that were well complemented by the bounce of the peach flavoured coconut jellies. Essentially the beverage was more accurately described as a mango flavoured green tea with passionfruit pulp and peach jelly. The flavour and texture combination makes for a refreshing beverage but nothing particularly special given the artificiality of the mango flavour.
Tropical Fruit Party was purchased from Gong Cha in Sydney, Australia in February 2021.
