Snack companies are taking adults in their 30s on a trip down memory lane — first with Toobs and now these Burger Man snacks from Real McCoy Snackfood — decades after these iconic snacks of 90s childhoods were discontinued. The snack consisted of crispy puffed chips dusted with savoury burger-flavoured seasoning.
Each piece was about 5 cm in height, 3 cm in width, and 0.8 cm in thickness with a sweet aroma that recalled tonkatsu sauce. Upon tasting, a savoury and sweet tomato-y barbecue sauce flavour came through initially. As we crunched through each piece, the flavour of potato dominated before the sauce returns with a tangy prominence and lingered in the aftertaste. Overall, these were enjoyable snacks with plenty of seasoning covering every piece.
