This is the OKF Rice Milk, which was awarded a silver award in the Monde Selection in 2019. It is made from rice flour or pressing the rice grains, without added sugar, and has a surprisingly low sugar content of 3%.
The drink was an opaque off-white cream colour with a sweet, nutty, rice aroma. Served chilled, the same nutty notes came through with a bright sweetness that recalled sweetened almond milk. Compared to Woongjin Foods Achim Haetsal, it had a similar toffee nut flavour and smooth mouthfeel but was not effervescent so the nuttiness of the rice persisted throughout the sip and lingered longer in the aftertaste. Overall, this was a refreshing drink that provided a surprisingly bold hint of sweetness despite its low sugar content.
This OKF Rice Milk contained 1.5 L. It was produced in South Korea and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
