This is the Xing Fu Tang Jasmine Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba (cold, $6.80, less sugar, fixed ice).
After stirring the hot brown sugar boba into the drink the ice melted to chill the jasmine milk tea. Consumed chilled, prominent sweet notes of sweetened milk came through at the head of each sip ahead of fragrant notes of dewy jasmine emerging swiftly in the body and lingering into the finish. The floral aspects of the tea were strong and held their own against the sweetness of the brown sugar boba, which was spooned piping hot directly from the pot on the stove into the cup after ordering. While we enjoyed the balanced sweetness of the boba in the drink — the sweetness penetrates each boba without any lingering tapioca flavour — the overall softness of the boba was not ideal as it lacked bite.
