This is the Glico Ice no Mi Pink Grapefruit. They’re bite-size gelato balls and consist of 30% pink grapefruit juice.
Each ball is around 3 cm in diameter with a sweet citrus aroma. Upon tasting, the balls had an icy exterior that gave way to the creamy gelato interior where the grapefruit notes came through with just the briefest hint of bitterness before developing to a rounded sweet citrus flavour. The citrus flavour was mellow and less bold than the other flavours in the Ice no Mi lineup, and unlike the other flavours, had a notable — though not overpowering — dairy presence emerging in the finish. After a few balls, the grapefruit oils left a slight tongue-numbing sensation. While we still enjoyed this flavour, we prefer the others in the lineup.
This Glico Ice no Mi Pink Grapefruit contained 12 pieces or 84 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
