Imuraya Yawamochi Ice Kuromitsu Kinako

This is the Imuraya Yawamochi Ice Kuromitsu Kinako.

It consisted of kinako ice cream topped with a layer of kuromitsu sauce and three pieces of mochi and dusted in kinako.

The kinako ice cream was smooth and creamy with a warm nuttiness that was amplified by the dusting of powder atop and very well restrained in its sweetness, relying almost exclusively on the kuromitsu sauce to sweeten the dessert with its warm molasses-like taste. The mochi was firmer than the warabimochi in the Imuraya Yawamochi Ice Cream Matcha Warabimochi, especially straight out of the freezer, and softened to a moreish chewiness that was a delightful contrast to the smooth creaminess of the ice cream. This ice cream was immensely enjoyable with each spoonful picking up a bit of every component.

This Imuraya Yawamochi Ice Kuromitsu Kinako contained 4 x 80 mL cups. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
