The peanuts were encased in a crunchy shell and emitted a sugary aroma. When tasted, the shell initially imparted a savoury character due to the sprinkling of salt. However, the coating itself was substantial and exhibited a pronounced sweetness that disrupted our appreciation of the underlying peanut. The lack of balance between the sweet and savoury elements, along with the proportion of the coating to the peanuts, led us to favour the thinner, crispier shell found in Koh-Kae Peanuts.
This Hua Wei Heng Peanut contained 208 g. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
