Chip Star has held a special place as our preferred brand for this type of snack format since our initial discovery during one of our early trips to Japan. It was a testament to our anticipation that we managed to resist indulging in them until we returned home. With no further introduction, this is the Yamazaki Biscuits Chip Star Potato Chips Lightly Salted.

The potato chips were oval-shaped, measuring about 6 x 5 cm at their widest points, and featured a delicate dusting of fine salt. Upon the first bite, the chips delivered a satisfying crisp crunch. A subtle hint of salt made its initial appearance, gently enhancing the experience before giving way to the pronounced potato flavour that characterized the rest of the bite. This flavour lingered pleasantly, providing a fulfilling finish. We found the potato flavour to be remarkably enjoyable, a quality that hadn’t been quite as evident in Pringles. The advertised light dusting of salt played its role well, subtly heightening the potato’s natural taste. Overall, these potato chips proved to be immensely gratifying, and we anticipate making them a recurring purchase.
This Yamazaki Biscuits Chip Star Lightly Salted contained 45 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2023.
