This Lupicia Debut was a limited edition tea exclusive to the Lupicia store in Hankyu Umeda in Ōsaka.

It’s a loose-leaf black tea flavoured with peaches and La France pear and scented with lime. A blend of heath flowers, blue marrow and marigolds added colour to the loose-leaf tea.

Steeping 3 g of loose leaf in 200 mL of 85ºC water for 3 minutes yielded a clear, deep amber infusion with a fresh and fruity aroma. When served hot, the initial sips unveiled sweet pear notes at the forefront, soon evolving into a delicate peachy acidity within the body. The black tea’s inherent sweetness carried the flavour seamlessly from beginning to end, gradually intensifying through the body and culminating in a crisp finish accentuated by a hint of lime that brought a touch of zest without overpowering the palate.
Overall, this tea exuded an understated elegance and distinguished itself through its invigorating attributes. It shared similarities with T2 Jasmine Pear, though the latter boasted a more robust pear flavour. Meanwhile, the gentle interplay of peach and lime in the Lupicia Debut imparted a milder, well-rounded character to its flavour profile.
This Lupicia Debut contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from India and Vietnam, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Ōsaka, Japan in 2023.
