This is the Orihiro Purunto Konnyaku Jelly Amanetsu Melon + Pink Grapefruit.
The sweet melon contained 8% fruit juice.
The jelly was a pale, translucent orange hue. Both its aroma and flavour adeptly encapsulated the vivid fragrance and abundant sweetness characteristic of ripe melon. Notably, the konjac texture provided a pleasurable contrast to the agar-based melon jellies (1, 2), which endeavour to replicate the melon’s more tender flesh.
The pink grapefruit contained 10% fruit juice.
The jelly was a translucent, pale orange hue accompanied by a sweet grapefruit aroma. On tasting, the initial sweetness, though restrained, briefly evoked recollections of a citrus-scented cleaning agent. However, to our relief, the flavour rapidly progressed, introducing a harmonizing acidity within the body that affirmed the natural fruitiness of the grapefruit taste.
This Orihiro Purunto Konnyaku Jelly Amanetsu Melon + Pink Grapefruit contained 240 g (sweet melon x 6 pieces, pink grapefruit x 6 pieces). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
