This is the Kirin Sekai no Kitchen Kara Salty Lychee. It contained 10% fruit juice, comprising seasonal lychees, grapes, grapefruit, and Okinawan sea salt at a concentration of 0.11 g per 100 mL.
The beverage had an opaque white hue and emitted a floral lychee aroma with a subtle touch of refreshing mintiness. Upon tasting, the presence of salt was immediately noticeable, akin to the slightly viscous texture and distinctive mouthfeel found in electrolyte drinks. Beyond the salty aspect, the flavour offered a subtle citrusy sweetness, courtesy of the grape and grapefruit juice, followed by the emergence of floral lychee notes in the middle of each sip, accompanied by a pleasing hint of lingering acidity. As the drink concluded, the sweetness and saltiness subsided, leaving behind only the pleasant aromatic traces of lychee on the palate, accompanied by a refreshing touch of mint, albeit without its customary cooling effect. In summary, the flavour prominently featured lychee but presented a fresher, crisper interpretation of this floral summer fruit, with a notably restrained level of sweetness compared to Yeo’s Lychee Drink.
