The drink was an opaque tan hue and offered a velvety mouthfeel, with the milk’s gentle sweetness evident right from the start. This sweetness gradually intensified, reaching a pronounced richness in the middle of each sip, just as the aromatic coffee notes emerged to temper their dominance. Although the dairy flavour was notably prominent in the middle of the sip, the overall experience remained delightful and easy to savour, leading to a crisp finish and a clean aftertaste. In sum, this coffee masterfully balanced the interplay of milk and coffee flavours. It leaned less toward sweetness compared to Kirin Gogo no Kōcha Milk Tea, and the refreshing, clean aftertaste added an elegant touch that pleasantly surprised us.
This Kirin Koiwai The Cafe Au Lait contained 500 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
