Upon tasting, the unsweetened golden pineapples used in these pieces delivered an intense natural sweetness comparable to Coles Premium Pineapple Pieces, which comprised 88% pineapple, with sugar as the second ingredient. Unlike the Coles version, these pieces had a uniform, rich tropical sweetness across different pieces. This consistent intensity of flavor meant that just a handful was enough to prompt a desire for relief from the sweetness. The texture was impeccable, with the pineapple fibres pleasantly tender and yielding easily to each bite. Lightly dried, they retained some natural moisture, avoiding an overly chewy or sticky consistency. In summary, these pineapple pieces were a sweet indulgence deserving of a repeat purchase. However, the Coles version was more accessible and affordable, and sufficiently satisfying for any cravings.
